The structure of user right groups
Each user right group has a list of rights that can be granted or revoked for a selected group. However, there are some special user rights in this list that allow or deny the possibility of editing and management. Using these rights can set up a relation between user right groups, so one group can edit or manage the other, while prohibiting the same for other groups.
Here are 4 key user rights that are related to setting up user right groups compared to each other, plus we have renamed an existing one to maintain linguistic consistency.
- Edit user: If granted, a user can edit the info, details and settings of another user. (At VCC Live > User management > Users)
- Manage supervisor rights: If granted, a user can manage the various rights related to a supervisor right group. (At VCC Live > User management > Rights)
- Manage agent rights: If granted, a user can manage the various rights related to an agent right group. (At VCC Live > User management > Rights)
- Manage supervisors in teams: If granted, a user can manage the members of a supervisor team.
- Manage agents in teams (FKA Remove agent from team): If granted, a user can manage the members of an agent team.
Let’s see how this works with an example:
- User_Amanda is a member of Team_A. Team_A is granted with “Edit user” rights. This means that all members of the group, including User_Amanda can edit the details of other users in the VCC Live > User management > Users section.
- The supervisor of User_Amanda revokes the “Edit user” right from her and everyone from Team_A. This can be done by first selecting Team_A, and then unchecking the “Edit user” right checkbox in VCC Live > User management > Rights.
- Now, if User_Amanda goes to the Users section in VCC Live, she cannot edit any users’ details, as she finds the panel on the right inactive (grey).
Additional information: when creating a new team, the supervisor is added to the team automatically.
Please note: as you have noticed, the “Remove agent from team” right was not modified, we have only changed its name to comply with our current naming system. The new name is “Manage agent teams” – please check your settings so everything runs smoothly at your side as it should.
