Save the date! VCC Live hits the stage at Sümeg

Posted on: May 23rd, 2017 by viktorvarga No Comments

We are just a couple of days away from the 13th Statewide Contact Center Conference in Sümeg, and we’re all set up and ready to go!

It seems like only yesterday that we announced we will be participating at this year’s Statewide Contact Center Conference in Sümeg. Since then, it’s been a week of productive and hectic preparation in our offices, and we can’t wait to meet you in person and talk about the latest innovations we have for you! As Diamond-Level Supporters (together with OTP Mobil), we have put together several enticing materials we are more than ready to share.

Make sure to drop by for our first presentation on Wednesday, May 24th, when our Managing Director, Szabolcs Tóth, will tell you all you need to know about debt handling over the phone using instant payments via bank cards. Szabolcs will be on stage from 16:10 to 16:20, guiding you through the world of debt collection. He will show you how companies and service providers can transform debt collection from a cumbersome task into an easy and efficient five-minute phone conversation.

But there’s more! You can meet Szabolcs again, this time together with Dr. Gáber Seif Al-Absi, Head of Business Development and Sales Deputy CEO at OTP Mobil, when the two of them share their views on the holistic combination of contact center and payment solutions. They will be holding their presentation on 26th May between 11.00 and 11.15, illustrating, with real-life examples, how this blend of solutions can be used, and what the results they bring to the innovators who implement them in their everyday business are.

We are ready and on our way to Sümeg, and we hope you are too! Look forward to seeing you there!

Latest VCC Live Client Update Brings Under-the-hood Improvements

Posted on: May 2nd, 2017 by viktorvarga No Comments

The latest VCC Live client update includes under-the-hood improvements: faster client startup times, less data traffic and less time spent tweaking your firewall settings.

At VCC Live we’re committed to bringing you unparalleled services and features in our software package. That’s why we regularly release under-the-hood updates, including speed and reliability improvements that are often not visible to our users. Our latest update introduces the OCSP (Online Certificate Status Protocol) stapling method for checking certificate validity in the VCC Live client, bringing noticeable improvements to performance levels.

The VCC Live client uses cryptographic protocols -in this case TLS 1.2 (Transport Layer Security) – to establish a secure connection and communication over a computer network. Protocols use x.509 certificates, which must be valid at the time of use. Certificates contain a public key as well as an identity that is signed by a certificate authority. When certificates are signed, a service that utilises the certificate’s public key can establish a secure connection.

A certificate authority may refuse to sign a certificate for various reasons, such as evidence of a security breach attack or possible information leakage. Therefore, the VCC Live client is required to request a certificate validation from the certificate authority’s OCSP server (ocs.godaddy.com) at each start up.

There are a number of ways to determine if a certificate is valid. The simplest (although not 100% reliable) method is to check the certificate’s validity date. Alternatively, the owner of the certificate can inform the certificate authority if the certificate is no longer valid.  Certificate authorities can also confirm the validation status of a certificate via the OCSP protocol. Or, as certificates have an expiry date, validity can be revoked using protocols. Once the validation request has been responded to, the VCC Live client can tell if the certificate is valid or invalid.

In VCC Live’s case, TLS protocol supports an approach in which the VCC server itself can provide validation information to the client, in a way that OCSP details remain unchanged and valid. OCSP stapling uses this method.

By working in this way, the VCC Live client doesn’t get overloaded while handling validation requests. The client can start up more quickly and generate less data traffic. Using the OCSP stapling method also eliminates the need for firewall rules for opening and forwarding IPs/ports to the OCSP server (which was previously required), thus making setting up the VCL environment even simpler. This firewall rule can be revoked by the system administrator.

VCC Live unveils Recurring Payment for VCC Live Pay

Posted on: April 25th, 2017 by viktorvarga No Comments

VCC Live Pay is undoubtedly one of VCC Live’s best features, and now this feature has become even better.

In 2016 we introduced VCC Live Pay, a new, effortless way to arrange payments. It allows clients to complete card payments during a phone call. Until today, this service was only possible for one-time payments. Now, however, we bring VCC Live Pay’s latest innovation: the Recurring Payment feature. For the first time, as well as being able to arrange one-off payments, VCC Live Pay can also now handle recurring transactions.

Since releasing VCC Live Pay last year, our customers have reported that they have been achieving remarkable results, with up to 30% percent of their customers being interested in making payments during a phone call. With Recurring Payments, we hope we can go even further. We believe this feature provides the fastest solution for arranging monthly payments, such as insurance-, subscription- and utility-fees, as well as debt collection and donations. And it is also the most effective way of making payments as, just with other online payment methods, it has no cost for our client’s customers.

Using the Recurring Payment feature is simple. Firstly the customer and operator need to agree on the fixed amount. Then the customer needs to provide their debit card details, using their phone’s keypads. Once all details have been confirmed, the operator can initiate the recurring transaction request. If the transaction is successful, it is confirmed instantaneously and from this point on VCC Live’s system debits the funds from the customer’s card each month. If the system’s attempt to carry out the transaction is unsuccessful, it can immediately connect an operator to the customer to re-confirm correct payment details. Alternatively, it can notify the customer via text message.

While the Recurring Payment feature is simple to use, it is the result of extensive research and development. We explored various options in order to find out how we could further improve our service, and to provide an even better payment solution. We quickly discovered that there was a high demand for a method that could make arranging monthly payments effortless. Our Recurring Payment feature satisfies this demand by reducing the need for user input – our system integrates with our financial partner’s payment gateway during the automated payment process.

Of course, with a payment service like this, security is extremely important, and as such VCC Live Pay is PCI DSS (bank card security), ISO 27001 (information security) and ISO 22301 (business continuity management) certified. The details required for each payment are directly transferred to our financial partner, and data is not shared with the operator or disclosed in any way during the process. Even DTMFs (dual-tone multi frequency) are filtered when the client uses their phone’s keypad to enter credit or debit card details, so that they also cannot be decoded.

Exciting things are about to happen at VCC!

Our news stories about technological advancements at VCC rarely focus on the team behind them, and the background to the long-term decisions we make about our brand. However, at the moment we are preparing for some exciting changes due to take place in the next few months.

During the summer, when work is not quite as hectic as it normally is, we can devote time to strategic planning and creative mind-mapping. In particular, we look for new ideas to help make our communication style more accessible, and to help highlight the team effort that goes into our projects and technological innovations.

Each and every one of us is an expert in their field, be it development, testing, project management, marketing or customer relations. By bringing all our colleagues (with their different interests and backgrounds) together to plan our future goals and work towards them collectively, we continue to learn a lot about ourselves and about our company.

This year we are preparing for important changes at VCC that will have an effect on our colleagues, our customers and our partners. Full details will be announced shortly, but to summarise, the Virtual Call Center brand name and product visual design will be changing in the autumn, and to reflect this new era we will also be moving to a new office.

In presenting a new, refreshed image (both visually and in our corporate name), it was our goal to reflect VCC’s ongoing development, as well as the developing trends in the industry. The hardest challenge was to integrate VCC’s past and present strengths into a new design for the future. We believe that the new design, to be revealed in September, is well worth the wait – we hope you will be as excited about it as we are!

The other big decision we have decided to take is to move to a new office at the end of the summer. This new, bigger space will be an inspiring environment to work in, helping the VCC team to sustain (and further) their high standards.

If you are interested in the above changes in our brand and design, don’t forget to have a look at our channels!

Destination Rio!

Posted on: August 5th, 2016 by viktorvarga No Comments

The Euro 2016 Football Championship saw all of Hungary come together to support the national football team during their adventure. And throughout the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio we are also showing our support (once we have finished work, of course!) for the Hungarian sportsmen and women taking part. To make it easier to follow the Olympic Games we have designed a new Rio 2016 interface for our users.

There has already been plenty of news from the Games in Rio, which started on 5th August. After the excitement of Euro 2016, we are hoping the Olympic team will be even more successful than at the 2012 London Olympics, where Hungary won 18 medals. At the Rio Games (who’s motto is ’A new world’), the Hungarian team has almost 160 competitors, taking part in 21 different sports. The Brazilian city will be the home for more than 10,000 sportsmen, and more than 7.5 million tickets have been sold worldwide.

Many fans will be lucky enough to not be at work while the Olympic Games are taking place, but we know that those working in their offices will also want to show their support for the national team or any of their favorite athletes in Rio. This is why we have created the Rio 2016 skin (reflecting the Games in colour and style), which is available any time you log in throughout the Games, as well as the Paralympics.

A busy conference season for VCC

Posted on: April 7th, 2016 by viktorvarga No Comments

This spring we are taking part in more conferences than ever before, attending professional events not just in Hungary, but also in Prague, Poland and the USA, introducing our recent developments and updated partner programmes in addition to finding out about the industry’s latest innovations and meeting potential new partners.

The VCC team has just returned from ’Teleco Days’, a conference in Prague which focused both on discussing the latest innovations in European and international telecommunications, and on providing a forum to network with potential business partners through individual meetings. The two-day-long event was highly relevant to us from a product development point of view, as all talks were related to cloud-based data handling and data security in telecommunications. Our meetings with potential partners, in which we presented our VCC Pay feature, also proved to be highly successful, with everyone congratulating us on our innovative way of thinking, which they felt was far in advance of our competitors.

VCC is interested in attending telecommunications events not only because of its telco services but also because of its recently established multi-level reseller and partner programme, which allows international service providers to benefit from cooperating with us. We have already attended the recent ’Sales Trends 2016’ event in Budapest, where we talked about our latest developments and efficient customer service solutions, and in May we are taking part in the biggest international telecommunications event in the USA, Chicago’s ’ITW 2016’, where we hope to build fruitful relationships with US partners. In addition, we will also be meeting international start-up company managers at the forthcoming ’Wolves Summit’, in Warsaw.
